Hereditary hair loss

The technical term alopecia androgenetica refers to hereditary hair loss.

The inherited hypersensitivity of hair follicles to androgens, in particular to DHT (dihydrotestosterone), leads to progressive degeneration of the hair follicles. Both men and women are affected, the difference lies in the form of progression.

    • The more advanced the degeneration of the hair follicles, the sparser the hair growth.
    • Light areas should be treated as early as possible.
    • Another aim is to maintain and strengthen the current hair status.

94%

The male testers in the initial stage showed an improvement of 94% in the pull test.

98%

The female testers in the initial stage showed an improvement of 98% in the pull test.

Typical course man

In the initial stage, a typical bald patch appears in the forehead area with progressive receding hairline, which develops into a so-called monk’s bald head.

Typical course woman

In women, the progression is more moderate: the hair typically thins out around the crown. There is no balding, but rather a clear thinning of the hair.
